Why We Strength Test Every Quarter
At Iron Pirate Strength & Conditioning we test our male and female athletes in the Power Clean, Parallel Back Squat and Bench Press – as well as four other exercises – every month to track athletes’ progress toward training goals.
In addition to the weights they move, we also watch for technique errors that tend to occur under greatest stress. That allows us a unique teaching opportunity every three months.
We believe that the three main exercises, squat, clean and bench, are essential to virtually every athlete’s pursuit of excellence in their sport.
