The Class of 2006 was the first to take part in the Iron Pirate S&C program, and it was a pretty small group that grew quickly as juniors and sophomores watched them sweat their workouts before and after school. Football players Phill Swanson and Jim O’Neill earned a slew of honors on the field and both had stellar outdoor track seasons before heading to Western Michigan University on football scholarships. Another ’06 alum, Danny Cunningham, also earned Iron Pirate status, making 2007 the only class to have 100% of its members reach Iron Pirate status.
